Apple Abruptly Pulls ‘Phone Story’ From The iTunes App Store

“Phone Story” is an educational game about the dark side of your favorite smart phone.  Follow your phone’s journey around the world and fight the market forces in a spiral of planned obsolescence.

If there’s one thing Apple would rather you not talk about, it’s the origins and manufacturing process of its products. So, when Molleindustria submitted their highly-political app ‘Phone Story’ to the App Store a few weeks ago, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that shortly after it became available earlier today, it was pulled – without explanation.

Featuring 8-bit visuals, the game was designed to detail the dark side of iPhone. More specifically, the app went into details of the device’s manufacturing at Foxconn’s reportedly less-than-sanitary factories and generally how the product ends up in the hands of millions, each year…..
