Day 1 – iWorld Some ballsy gadgets and a famous comedian

Ok, let’s just say that iWorld (rebranded from Macworld Expo) seems to get smaller every year. It is now just located in Moscone West — that’s it. Coming from CES two weeks ago, this is a major – major downsize and I can’t say if I’m terribly disappointed or relieved that I’m not squished in foot traffic of about 150K people.  So far, my highlight of the day has been running into comedian Dave Chappelle in the exhibit hall strolling with his sons virtually undetected until I stopped him. How can you not recognize this face?

He looks exactly like he does in all of my DVDs of the Chappelle Show! Unfortunately, he politely turned me down for a picture. So, no cameo for iLadies girls and guys.

On to the goodies. This convention is about three days long. I’m guessing we can get through the whole thing by tomm mid-day which will leave a day of shopping? Given that we are blocks from Union Square this shall be a mix of fun and work.

iBallz

As we perused the aisles for cool products to share, this popped out and of course sparked some giggles by other attendees. Unforgettable name or what? In fact, we purchased one. We’ll let you know how that turns out. It’s really simple. It can be used a backup to your case for your iPad. It can also be used for a stand. It’s great for kids and clumsy adults!

iPro Lens

Notice how everything is i? :) Steve Jobs and his names that caught on with the rest of the world. This is great for you moms and dads who want to get a little creative with the pictures you take on your iPhone. I’m just waiting for Lens Babies to follow suit. These are lens attachments that help you create interesting effects. The system is $189.00 online and a 2x teleconverter will be released this April.

Watershed Drybags.com – Grid Tablet Bag, Tramp Mesh Tote Bag, Clutch Smartphone Wallet

We’re based out of San Diego, California. Naturally, we are surrounded by 70 miles of beaches! Given that we have an extremely difficult time detaching from our iPads and iPhones (Ok I’m exaggerating), this caught our eye because of its awesomeness in the “keep sand out of my bag and iPad” carrier department. This is great for the beach or any family outing where you might get something wet or dirty. Sometimes the kids might be too wired up so, just pull out the iPad and let them watch while you sip on your Mai Tai on your beach chair.
